About Us
Who I am and how did I end up with my own business? My accountancy career began in 1997 when I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in Accounting and Finance. I joined a firm of Chartered Accountants on the Wirral and began my professional training which resulted in Membership of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2001. Although qualified as an accountant, my studies did not end there and I began a correspondence course at Oxford Brookes University. The following year I was awarded a degree in Applied Accounting. In 2002 I left the firm and joined the Audit Commission to broaden my experience. In 2007 I leapt from my job at the Commission into the exciting world of self employment and since then have had the privilege of helping both individuals and small businesses navigate their way through these challenging times. |
I thoroughly enjoy my work and in addition to my "day job" have taken on some interesting voluntary positions. In 2004 I was appointed as Honorary Treasurer of a local charity and served two consecutive terms of three years until my retirement in 2010. In 2008 I was appointed as a Specialist Business Mentor for the Prince’s Trust and continue in this role today. I also enjoy teaching part-time and from 2005-2008 was employed by Manchester Metropolitan University’s Business School. Since 2007 I have provided accounting technician training at a private college on the Wirral and currently teach two evenings a week. |
